FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida — BOTE Board, a leader in Stand Up Paddle board innovation and lifestyle, is proud to announce the ‘Made by the Military’ project. The Made by the Military project was created by BOTE paddle board company as a way to raise money for an important cause, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). In May of 2015, BOTE invited four people together to participate in the construction of a special edition paddle board. This one-of-a-kind special edition paddle board is to be auctioned to the highest bidder and 100% of the funds raised will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Three of the people invited to participate, Cody Kavanagh, Danny Rimes, and Matt Lando, are active and former members of the military‘s elite special operations forces. These men know what it means to serve their country and understand the importance of all that SOWF provides to the families of fallen soldiers. They were all extremely glad to donate their valuable time and participate in this project.

The final participant in the project was Maddeline Voas. Maddeline was one of the recipients of the aide provided by SOWF and understands, from first-hand experience, just how important the SOWF can be in time of need. Maddeline and her family have relied heavily on the SOWF for moral and financial support since her father was killed in Afghanistan five years ago. With the help and support of SOWF, Maddeline was able to attend college and graduated with a bachelor’s degree within 3 years. She is currently working towards her masters in Anthropology.

“This is a very special project for us at BOTE.” says Corey Cooper, CEO of BOTE. “It is a way for us to show our support to those that risk their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom this country has to offer. That freedom gives us the opportunity to enjoy something as awesome as stand-up paddle boarding. We get to do what we love every day, designing and building stand-up paddle boards. For us to have the opportunity to invite these Special Forces guys and have them take part in making a paddle board to benefit the families of their fallen brothers and sisters is about as awesome as it gets. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it and hope the auction does really well.”

BOTE is proud to sponsor this project and provide an avenue to raise money for the SOWF so they can provide much needed support for families of fallen warriors. This 12’ BOTE HD board with custom Americana graphics – hand crafted in the BOTE DarkRoom right here in the U.S. of A.- will be auctioned off to the highest bidder now through July 3, 2015 at noon. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to the SOWF once the auction has closed. Please show your support for this awesome organization today. To take part in the auction, please visit BOTE’s webpage at here.
