HOOD RIVER, Oregon - Slingshot Sports introduces the Space pickle Stand up paddleboard. Designed for performance wave riding in knee to shoulder high waves, this board is a carving machine. The Space Pickle comes in an 8.6” and 7.6” and is truly versatile. The board easily pivots from rail to rail for quick turns due to its aggressive ‘V’ spine but is also super stable. It feels like a long board if you let it go straight but when you want to carve a turn it’s fast like a short board. Small enough to fit inside a van and big enough to take on the waves.

Based on Slingshot’s Future Response Technology, the Space Pickles are built with Slingshot’s proprietary Wood Veneer Sandwich Construction (WVS) that is a complex layering system of fiberglass and wood producing a stronger more durable board that is also lightweight.

“Beyond surfing what I was very surprised about was how well it tracks in flat water. I was able to get 2-3 more strokes on each side compared to other boards of similar size. Also doing a pivot turn by stepping back on the tail and sweeping with the paddle was really stable and fast because of the volume of the board. I think then when people try the board whether in surf or flat-water they will be pleasantly surprised by how easy this board paddles”, says product tester Nick Bjork.
