DANA POINT, California - Southern California resident and stand up paddle endurance athlete, Will Schmidt, is scheduled to be featured in what is proclaimed as the "most inspirational hour on television".

Arrow Electronics and Intersport present the 26th anniversary of "Courage in Sports" on CBS Sports Sunday, November 1st, at 5pm Eastern (check local listings for show times in specific areas). This yearly program follows the stories of a handful of athletes that overcome odds and adversity. Will has been able to release never before seen footage of his 2014 solo paddle of the Pacific Coast of the United States from Canada to Mexico as well as current interviews with Intersport and live action video for CBS Sports. Will Schmidt raises awareness for US military veterans who suffer from post-combat anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress through various charities as well as his homesite, www.AreYouInspiredYet.com. Will has been especially compelled to stand for this cause considering his history as a US Marine and lifelong battle with debilitating anxiety and depression, a condition that brought him close to an early fate only a handful of years ago.

During the summer of 2014, with the help of SIC Maui and many faithful sponsors, Will completed a successful attempt to stand up paddle the West Coast of the United States from Canada to Mexico solo and unassisted. 1386 miles and an estimated 1.1 million paddle strokes in 58 consecutive days made him the first and only person in history to complete such an endeavor. The trip was nominated and received “Top Expedition” honors during the 2014 SUPthemag Awards while fundraising over $10,000 for military veteran charities and counting.

Will is still in the process of producing his personal documentary film version of the Canada to Mexico stand up paddle now officially known as "Through My Eyes". Premier dates and accompanying fundraisers are to be announced within the coming months.
