Stand Up World Series 2015 Schedule Update

OAHU, Hawaii - Final details of this dramatic Grand Slam event in Brazil are still pending, with Official information to follow early next week. Brazil has been a mainstay on the World Tour Schedule since its outset in 2010 and will celebrate its 3rd year for the Series in 2015, having seen well over 600 participants last year across surfing and racing for a show of just how much the sport has grown in this sports mecca.

The European Cup is strengthened in 2015 to provide a dynamic 5 event Series spanning 5 countries and consisting of 2 full status World Series events. With athletes' 3 best results counting out of the 5 events for the European Cup Title, events will be weighted in points according to their stature (i.e. full World Series stature or Challenger event).

The stops remain the same for 2015, with Oleron in France opening the campaign from the 19th - 21st June, Sieravuori, Finland providing the Northern European stop from the 3rd - 5th of July and Rome, Italy providing the mid summer mayhem from the 24th - 26th July in conjunction with the acclaimed Surf Expo held right at the water's edge.

The 2 World Series stops for this year will see a return to Fehmarn, Germany this year, which will also be the Final of the European Cup, held from the 7th - 9th August. While the new addition for 2015 is an exciting new stop in Spain that will run from the 26th - 28th June as a full status World Series event in one of the most popular and ideally suited locations in the country.

After a successful first showing in Japan in 2014 with the Chigasaki Pro Challenger Series event, 2015 will see a full blown World Series event hit the shores of Japan in a new and exciting location found in the prefecture of Kanagawa, just outside Tokyo.

The Kanagawa Pro will be an exciting next step for the World Series globally, as Asia becomes a major global force in Stand Up Paddling. With $30,000 of prize-money on offer, the World's best will head to Kanagawa from the 4th - 6th September for a weekend to remember, where World #3 Mo Freitas (Focus SUP) and top contender Paul Jackson will look to repeat the exceptional form they found in the 2014 edition, but this time to be joined by World Champion Connor Baxter (Starboard), World #2 Kai Lenny and the complete cross section of international talent on the Stand Up World Series.

Also watch out for an increased Women's fleet in 2015, as increased prize-money and a growing fleet will provide a spectacular display of Women's racing in Kanagawa.

The Huntington Beach Pro Grand Slam has established itself as not only a reference point for performance Surfing over the past few years, but also as one of the most exciting racing venues of the season, as Surf City USA provides the perfect amphitheater and race course for both long distance and sprint racing.

With a new Title for 2015, the US Open of Stand Up Paddling at Huntington Beach Pier will take place from the 26th September to the 4th October and provide the most comprehensive showcase of the sport for the whole world to see. Featuring both World Tour Surfing and World Series Racing, coupled with youth surfing and racing and non profit introductory clinics in the safe waters nearby, from the last week of September running through the first weekend of October, Huntington Beach will be the place to be, as the World Tour & Series come to the USA.

This year's annual pilgrimage to Oahu's fabled North Shore for the spectacular close the World Championship Racing season will take place from the 16th - 18th October, as the Winter swells start to show and the Point at Turtle Bay turns into the world's most exciting racing arena imaginable.
