The 17th edition of the Master of the Ocean was an action-packed extravaganza. All five days were filled with the hot tropical sun and catchy beats with varying wind and wave conditions that made completion of the event possible.
The organizers of Master of the Ocean, the most complete extreme water sports competition held in Cabarete, on the north shore of the Dominican Republic, announced the dates of its 17th edition.
he fifth day of the Master of the Ocean 2020 got to a later start as no wind was in the forecast and competitors were resting from 10 hours of continuous muscle action the day before.
The final day of 2019 Master of the Ocean, which also happened to fall on Feb 27th, Dominican Independence Day. did not fail to disappoint those in attendance. With a $10,000 US prize purse up for grabs, which was donated by Casa Lina, those athletes still in the hunt for a podium finish were keen to take home a win and some cash.
At Kite Beach Cafe, located about two kilometers west of Cabarete, world-class water athletes surfed, kite surfed, wind surfed and stand up paddled, to the delight of hundreds of visitors, who came together to show their passion for the ocean, and sports at the Master of the Ocean Festival.
The Master of the Ocean 2016 was an excellent week long event with incredible conditions allowing for the insanely talented men and women entered in the event to show off their diverse skill sets in the different water sports of surfing, SUP surfing, kite surfing and windsurfing in the beautiful destination of Cabarete, Dominican Republic. After a weeklong event here in Cabarete, Dominican Republic it is Hawaiian Zane Schweitzer who has just won the 2016 Master of the Ocean for the third consecutive year. Zane was on a tear all week and performed well across all four disciplines (SUP, Kite, Surf, Windsurf) earning him the title of Master of the Ocean for the third year in a row.
Day two of the 2016 Master of the Ocean welcomed competitors with light winds and sunny, clear skies. With the swell having dropped overnight to shoulder high surf, there were still plenty of waves on tap for the athletes to have some fun on.
After an insanely fun welcoming party with great food, company and live music, a beautiful morning greeted competitors and spectators on the first day of competition at the 2016 master of the ocean. With a solid swell providing overhead surf in the water the competitors were eager to get wet and get the competition started.
