After two months of deliberations and intense evaluations we are pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Supconnect Editor's Choice Awards. After nominating 30 or so men, women, groms and blogs per category, and an abundance of brands and shops in the stand up paddle industry we've finally narrowed down the extremely talented pool of nominees to the final chosen winners.

With Hurricane Irma growing and Category 5 winds charging towards Florida, the Orlando Surf Expo is experiencing some setbacks. One of the show’s exhibitors, Surftech, recently announced that they are pulling out of the Orlando expo for safety reasons. Surftech CEO John Vance released this statement early Wednesday morning on Facebook.

“Watching people accomplish their goals. Seeing hugs at the finish line and the spark of someone racing for the first time. Hearing laughter during the relays and clapping hands at the awards ceremony. Counting up the money we've raised for charity with pride.”

Demo day at the September Surf Expo show is where consumers and retailers have the chance to test the new gear first hand from all their favorite brands. Attendance however has seen quite the decline in recent years, more likely than not due to the unideal venue that has been host to the demo day. That is until now…

Surf Expo, the largest and longest running watersports and beach lifestyle tradeshow, announced today their Demo Day on September 6, 2017 will be held at a new location, Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in Orlando, Florida, less than 10 miles from the Orange County Convention Center.
