Ahead of the official launch of the 11th Annual Supconnect Awards Supconnect has launched the Open Nominations for all categories, ahead of the official launch of the Awards in July. Categories include: Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Grom of the Year and Gear of the Year, among others.
Initially scheduled for June 13 and 14, 2020, the SNSM Morbihan Paddle Trophy was planned by the organizers for the end of September, but the conditions could not be met.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic many major events throughout the year have been postponed or cancelled. The world-renowned Molokai 2 Oahu (M2O) race is one of those that was cancelled for 2020 despite paddlers' hopes it would continue. However, M2O event organizers have just announced a 2020 virtual edition of the M2O to keep spirits high amid all that's going on.
Supconnect is launching its own Strava Club with the goal of bringing together standup paddlers from around the world, giving them a platform to connect and be inspired.
Another one bites the dust thanks to Covid-19. In what was hoped to be the new 'kick off' event of the 2020 season, the SIC Maui sponsored Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge unfortunately just announced they would be cancelling their event this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After much discussion with APP partners and stakeholders in Japan, the APP regrets to announce that it has no option but to postpone the Osaka SUP Open until 2021 due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
It is with great pleasure that we announce an updated #EuroTour2020 schedule. The EuroTour will now officially start in the month of July, with the majority of events happening over August and September.
The Latvian Surfing and SUP federation are putting into motion a new SUP competition format through which their goal is for SUP enthusiasts and athletes around the world to continue their daily SUP workouts in a race mode doing it remotely.
