After more than six weeks of deliberations and intense evaluations we are pleased to announce the winners of the 14th annual Supconnect Awards.
In 2022 Shuri Araki (JPN) set records, becoming both the youngest World Champion in his division and the first man to win the SUP Technical & Distance Races in the same year, a feat which the 17-year-old has repeated in 2023, to remain undefeated in any discipline he has entered in the ISA.
A huge day of action at the 2023 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship (WSUPPC) saw six former Technical Race World Champions crowned for the second time. Hundreds of spectators lined the La Grande Plage boardwalk in Les Sables d’Olonne to watch the thrilling action, as each of the Technical Race division Finals were run in ideal conditions that delivered endless exciting moments.
Drawing on his lifelong experience in the ocean, Shuri 'Shrimpy' Araki navigates a beautiful downwind course flawlessly to take the win for the day, but also the weekend with his 2nd place finish in the sprints.
