BIG SUR, California - Where's your favorite place to explore on a stand up paddle board? Brent Allen loves to explore Big Sur on the coast of Northern California. Check out the video he shared along with his take from his experience below.
"I have been looking at maps of the Big Sur Coast for 2 years. I did a recon paddle in sea kayaks in 2014 with friend Stephen Donahue from Monastery Beach (just south of Carmel) to Garrapata Beach and back. We don't have a very big window to embark on these types of adventures, so 8/23/2015 we (Brent Allen and Harry Deisroth *15 years old) launched from Monastery Beach and paddled 18+ miles down the Big Sur Coast finishing at the little sur river. DO NOT attempt these types of paddle unless you have a lot of experience and know this section of coast line. The Big Sur coast line is riddled with rock outcroppings and steep cliffs. There is a reason you would be hard pressed to find any video or photo from the ocean view (Stand Up Paddle)" - Brent Allen
