Rogue SUP To Sponsor Molokai 2 Oahu

SAN CLEMENTE, California -- Rogue Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) has announced that it has signed on as the official board sponsor of the Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championship (M2O) race to be held July 31, 2011.
The 32-mile race across the Ka’iwi Channel between the Hawaiian Islands of Molokai and Oahu is considered the most challenging paddleboard race in the world. Over 300 of the world’s best paddleboarders will compete in the M2O race, which will name the world champion of paddleboarding, both in prone and stand up paddleboarding.

About the Molokai-2-Oahu Paddleboard World Championships
Celebrating its 15th anniversary on Sunday, July 31, 2011, theMolokai-2-Oahu Paddleboard World Championships, is recognized as the one of the world's most challenging tests for endurance and courage. Covering 32 miles of open ocean, over 250 competitors will cross the Ka'iwi (kah-ee-vee) Channel, from the North Shore of Molokai to the South Shore of Oahu, under their own power on traditional paddleboards or stand up paddleboards (SUP). The Ka'iwi Channel or Molokai Channel is also known as the Channel of Bones for its centuries old reputation as one of the most treacherous bodies of water, having claimed the lives of many, including ancient canoe fleets and modern-day fisherman and watermen. The channel is 26 miles wide at its narrowest points and separates the islands of Molokai and Oahu. Its maximum depth is 701 meters or 2,300 feet.
