SAN CLEMENTE, California -- Rogue Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) has announced that it has signed on as the official board sponsor of the Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championship (M2O) race to be held July 31, 2011.

The 32-mile race across the Ka’iwi Channel between the Hawaiian Islands of Molokai and Oahu is considered the most challenging paddleboard race in the world. Over 300 of the world’s best paddleboarders will compete in the M2O race, which will name the world champion of paddleboarding, both in prone and stand up paddleboarding.

“We are really excited about our involvement with the Molokai 2 Oahu Race. We are honored to be aligned with an event that not only features the best waterman/waterwoman in the sport but with the celebration of the 15th annual race, we are thrilled to be a part of the event’s rich history and international draw/recognition. Rogue Stand Up Paddleboards are known for high performance and stability in choppy waters so the M2O Race is a perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate how well our boards perform in the treacherous, shark infested waters of the Ka’iwi Channel,” said Rick Karr, Founder and President, Rogue SUP.

“Over the past few years Rogue SUP has stood out among paddleboard manufacturers. With its superior boards and support of athletes and events around the world, Rogue has quickly demonstrated its commitment to the sport of SUP and risen to the top of the industry. We are thrilled to be working Rogue SUP this year on the M2O Race and look forward to many more years as partners in one of the fastest growing water sports in the world,” said Mike Takahashi, M2O Race Founder.

Morgan Becker

After spending the first part of her life in Minnesota, Morgan traded in her snow boots for sandals and moved to sunny California. After graduating with a degree in Communication from The University of Southern California, she eventually made her way down south to San Diego and is taking advantage of the living by the best beaches and burritos California has to offer. If it’s sunny, you can find her at the beach relaxing, or exploring the calm water in the bay via paddleboards and kayaks.
