MELBOURN, Florida - Have you heard of the SUP N GO Summer Race Series? ·It takes place in Melbourne, Florida and has already had two races this season, but race number three is happening in just 2 short weeks from now!·
It is called the Battle at Ballard and will take place on Saturday August 31, 5pm, at Ballard Park in Melbourne FL - 924 Thomas Barbour Drive, Melbourne FL, 32935. There will be both a one mile and 3 mile open Division Race (Recreational, 12’6 & 14’ Divisions) and awards will be given to the top 3 overall finishers in each distance per age division.
Along with the open races there is the options to participate in the BIC SUP ONE DESIGN RACES! This is a unique and very exciting format for racing. Everyone participating uses the same 12'6 Wing Stand Up Paddleboard by BIC SUP. This board won the "Gear of the Year" award by Outside Magazine and provides great fun for both new and experienced paddlers. The races will be a half mile long and use a single elimination process until a winner is crowned! Using the same board really levels the playing field and helps everyone focus on the ability of each athlete.
Also, everyone who registers in a BIC series race will be entered in a drawing to win a 12'6" Wing at the end of the season and will also become eligible to participate in the BIC SUP One Design World Championships which is part of Paddle Royal and will take place December 5-8th, 2013 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
