Sup Woman Awards: Popularity Winners

Popularity does play an important role in the Supconnect Awards and recognition of those with the most votes is called for. Although not the winners of the Sup Woman Awards, they have tremendous grassroots support.
Top 10 nominees on vote count, cast both through Facebook feedback and Twitter tweets, including a broad swath of athletes.
SAN DIEGO, California – The Supconnect Awards has always made its selection based on four criteria: ambassadorship, community involvement, athletic performance, and popularity. Tomorrow we’ll get into the details of the selection criteria and process. But today the focus is on the popularity winners, who deserve incredible credit for community support and the work they’ve done in their communities to rally such support. All of them should be taken as serious contributors to the stand up paddle community and highly promising ambassadors for the sup world.

These are not the winners of the Sup Women Awards but definitely athletes to keep an eye on. Some of them will be moving onto the Top 10 Finalists, which will be posted any moment both on Supconnect.com and on the Supconnect Facebook Page. And by the week’s end, the Sup Woman of the Year 2011 will be announced, entering a prestigious lineup of athletes in the Supconnect Awards, the world’s first and original awards in the stand up paddle world.
Some of them will make it to Top 10 Finalists and the Winner to be announced by week’s end.
