ORLANDO, Florida - More than 35 exhibitors and 300 retailers in town for Surf Expo gathered on the shores of the Orlando Watersports Complex to scrutinize the latest products from the SUP and wakeboarding industries.

“Not only was the chance to meet one-on-one great, but demo day also offered me a chance to compare a variety products and learn finer details of the boards I got to try,” says Kim Beaumont from Down Under CT LLC.

Both retailers and exhibitors expressed their pleasure with the inaugural event. Modern Surf and Skate’s George Leichtweis said he is even considering picking up a new sport after his staff demoed standup paddle boards.

The demo day experience also offered exhibitors to showcase product, receive feedback and nurture relationships. “The demo day will become an integral part of Surf Expo,” says Exhibitor Gary Menk from Jimmy Lewis. “The friendly environment makes for a great place to spend more time with customers.”

According to Gordy Holmes of CWB Board Company: “The coolest thing about this day is the excitement generated by trying product. There’s so many people in the SUP pool trying something they have never been able to do and it’s great.

Based on the positive reception, plans are in the works to enhance and expand next year’s Surf Expo Board demo day. Surf Expo begins tomorrow at the Orange County Convention center where more than 10,000 pre-registered buyers will be greeted by 2,000 booths of new product.
