Overview:
Paddle Board Highlights
Who is it for?
The Radito from Hala Gear is an inflatable SUP perfect for running rivers. The board is wide (34 in.) making it very stable, and rugged, which are necessities for paddling down the river. Carrying the board can be on the more difficult side as it weighs 31 pounds but the weight does come from the incredibly durable construction so the difficulty in carrying the board is totally worth it when you’re on the river. When not running the river the board can easily be transitioned to all around paddling and be used as a great family board that can take a beating. Retailed at $1,299, the Radito fits perfectly into the mid-level price point tier in terms of affordability.
First Impressions
If you’re looking for an all-around inflatable that can competently do river running, look no further. On top of that, this board arguably has the most stiff, most rugged construction of all inflatables in the market. There is something about the drop-stitch that is about 50% stiffer per layer and the reinforced rails and stringer makes this board just a beast in terms of its durability. The board is perfect for river running as you bounce off rocks and ride over shallow water, largely in part due to its retractable fin. The shape gives you a lot of stability as you step back towards the tail of the board which is essential for river running and if you need to maneuver in tight spots and at the same time there is a lot of rocker towards the nose which helps clear whitewater and bump. So if you want to be close to the shore (1-2 miles) for all around paddling and have a board that also works well for river running then this is your board.
