Paddle Board Highlights
Who is it for?
If you’re looking for an extremely lightweight all around inflatable paddleboard that is under the $1,000 price point, look at the Chasm-Lite from Kokopelli. The Chasm-Lite is an all around paddleboard that was designed with the ultimate packability in mind. So, if you’re looking for something that fits in tight places or if you want something small to travel with this could be something to consider. The board is best for shorter range paddling near the shoreline and in calm conditions where there isn’t too much bump on the water. Priced at $999, the Chasm-Lite comes as a complete package with everything you need to get on the water.
First Impressions
Upon first encountering the board, its weight, or rather, its lack thereof, immediately caught our attention. This board was remarkably light! Weighing in at just 14.6 lbs, it might just be the lightest board we've ever tested. Once inflated, the board's graphics showcased basic yet appealing blue and black colors. The package includes a paddle, pump, and leash, all branded by Kokopelli. The paddle is a convenient 4-piece carbon fiber design, allowing for easy breakdown and storage in the accompanying bag. Speaking of the bag, it doubles as a dry bag, providing a practical and thoughtful feature. Due to its small size, the board inflated quickly and effortlessly. However, it is worth noting that the material appears to be on the thinner side, which contributes to its lightweight nature but may compromise its durability. On the water, we noticed that the board offered less stability compared to other inflatables. Nevertheless, its impressive lightness was a standout feature that was truly appreciated. This board would be an excellent choice for avid travelers seeking something lightweight or for someone who needs a board that can store in a small space. Additionally, it serves as a suitable option for children or petite paddlers who may struggle with larger and heavier boards.
