Paddle Board Highlights
Who is it for?
If you’re looking for a non-inflatable paddleboard that is well-suited for SUP fitness and yoga, take a look at the Laguna from Surftech. This board sits in the mid-tier market in terms of affordability and is priced at $1,485 The Laguna is best for flatwater conditions and short-distance paddling. The Laguna comes in at an average weight and is fairly easy to carry. The board comes with a leash and fin so if you’re without a paddle note that you’ll need to get one separately.
First Impressions
When first looking at the board the beautiful bamboo really drew our attention. The board doesn’t feature any graphics but with the use of bamboo here graphics aren’t really needed to make this a beautiful board. A great and very noticeable feature of the board is the deckpad coverage. The entire deck of the board has the deckpad which is perfect for those who want to do SUP yoga or fitness. This coverage provides that much-needed grip. The board also has a bungee on the nose which is useful for bringing some extra gear on your paddle that you want to have secured. The nose of the board also features a little attachment point which is great for anchoring your board when on the water or even for securing and locking your board when off the water. On the water the board felt very stable which is a must when you’re looking to use it for SUP yoga and/or fitness activities. When trying a few yoga poses, the board really felt secure and the stability was solid. When not using the board for yoga the board works well as an all around standup paddleboard and would be fine for paddling short distances near shore. Because of the shape of the board though it’s going to do best in flatwater conditions so keep that in mind. Overall, the Surftech Laguna is definitely something you should keep in mind if you’re looking for a non-inflatable SUP that is great for SUP yoga and can also work for all around paddling.
