5th Annual Hellenic SUP Cup 2015 Faces Challenging Conditions

With cloudy weather, winds at a strong 25-30 knots and the temperature really low, organizers were facing the worst case scenario, just one day before the race, which was postponing or even canceling the race. On race day, 167 paddlers were given the go-ahead to take part in a challenging day on the water for the 5th annual Corinth Canal SUP Crossing.

Crazy Or Courageous: Man Attempting To Cross The Atlantic On A SUP

In January 2016 Nicolas Jarossay, a 38 year-old French paddler, will be making an attempt to be the first person to cross the Atlantic Ocean, solo and unsupported, on a stand up paddle board. Jarossay plans to paddle over 2,500 miles (4500 kms)over two to three months, from Cape Verde to Martinique.

Puyo & Guedson Dominate French SUP Championships

At the 2015 French National SUP Championships it was European powerhouses Titouan Puyo and Celine Guedson who took the 2015 championship. After a long weekend of racing, Puyo and Guedson slayed both the long distance race as well as the technical race for the men and women, giving the the two athletes an outstanding lead against their competitors and the overall victories for the event.

14-Year-Old Crowned Canadian SUP Surf Champ

On a weekend full of highlights nothing stood out more than a 14-year-old winning it all at the 2nd annual Tofino Paddle Surf SUP Invitational. The event, held over three days at the end of October, included two days of stand up paddle board surf competition followed by a day of surfing. Both events and all categories were competitive with more than 134 entries.

Surf4Smile Introduces SUP To Madagascar

In August 2015, Starboard team athlete Benoit Carpentier along with the organization Surf4smile created by his brother Mathieu, his sister Alix and a few friends, went on a 10-day mission to Madagascar to meet one community of surfers on the east coast of the island. A main part of their mission was to conduct free screening tests (hepatitis, malaria, HIV and syphilis) and health care for the local population.
