Over Father's Day Weekend on June 20, 2015 a new Guinness World Record was set for the most people to ride a surfboard at one time.

Aksel Kolstead is a SUP enthusiast who has helped to jumpstart the SUP movement in Norway. Aksel is an extremely accomplished pianist and composer who had his debut in Carnegie Hall in 2010. A few years ago Aksel was introduced to our wonderful sport of stand up paddling and he hasn't looked back. With a wealth of talent and a winter of training under their belt, the performance level from the world's best is sky rocketing as we anticipate the tightest competition yet on the 2015 Stand Up World Series.

British Columbia based charitable association BrainTrust Canada is introducing a new SUP event in Kelowna called Pihl Law Paddle for Prevention as Kelowna law firm Pihl Law Corporation is title sponsor, with major sponsors TELUS, COSTCO, Peacock Sheridan and Harmony Honda. All proceeds will go to support brain injury education and prevention in the Okanagan.

The 3rd Annual Performance Paddling Junior Pro & Youth SUP Fiesta, an annual all kids stand up surf and race competition at Bolsa Chica State Beach took place on Sunday May 3, 2015 and it was definitely an event to remember. Check out this killer video from the event.

The Payette River Games will be this weekend, June 19 - 21 and you can bet that the world's best stand up paddlers will be there to fight for their piece of the pie.
