Boardworks Surf and Badfish Stand Up Paddle have challenged the design constraints of existing drop-stitch inflatable SUP technology to create a board with tapered rails and enhanced rigidity. The result is the MCIT.
Now that winter is long gone in the southeast, the Boardworks whitewater Tour is under way. The first competition/festival along the way is always fun because you get to shake off all of the winter blues and get back into the swing of things and this year started with a bang. With the introduction of the Boardworks Tour this year, there was a ton of excitement in the air as we arrived in Alabama.
April 7th, 2012, a group of 8 paddlers, to include British Adventurer Dave Cornthwaite and Canadian Adventurer Rod Wellington will paddle the Wolf River from its source to its confluence with the Mississippi River, a distance of some 105+ miles.
Shane Perrin, who was on dialysis just a short while ago, has undertaken one of the most remarkable stand up paddle journeys in the books to date. He paddled 170 miles along an Ancient Mayan Route, from the heart of Belize to the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
This one of a kind Polynesian themed extravaganza will feature surfing contests, music, food and product vendors, costumes, a hula contest, limbo events, a Goof Board competition, a floating parade of rafts punching the monster wave/hole and the world’s best river stand up paddlers displaying their paddling prowess on the snowmelt swollen Colorado River.

On October 22nd, almost 600 paddlers participated in the 111-km Hawkesbury Canoe Classic. Most watercraft were canoes but two brave souls tested the waters of the Hawkesbury River on their stand up paddleboards.
