The weather forecast leading up to the 4th Annual Surftech Shootout and 2nd Annual Surf & Sand Duel-athlon SUP Race presented by SUP Magazine looked eerily similar to the intense storm conditions that plagued the event in 2011.
The first annual Covewater Classic SUP race presented by Surftech was a huge success with 76 paddlers from California, Nevada and Hawaii showing up for the race. The elite race was won by Jay Wild and Morgan Hoesterey.
