The Vaz brothers from Brazil are two of the most talented SUP surfers in today’s generation of stand up paddlers pushing to progress stand up paddle (SUP) surfing. They’ve just released a new surfing edit from their travels to Tahiti, Hawaii, Baja California and at home in Rio de Janeiro with a couple of their friends Felippe Gaspar and Lucas Medeiros and they all are ripping.
We’ve known for awhile that Brazilian stand up paddle surfer Nicole Pacelli loved to charge big waves and recently she took it up a notch by heading to Peahi, a.k.a Jaws, on an early spring swell and paddling out on her SUP.

The Bouyer brothers, Julien and Camille, shot this awesome video of themselves having some tandem fun at their home spot île de Ré which is an island off the west coast of France. Australian stand up paddler Kai Bates recently went on an amazing trip to Papua New Guinea to take a chance at riding the tidal bore that frequents the river Digul in West Papua New Guinea. After a two-day plane trip, eight hour car rides and long boat journeys Kai made it to the river and had a blast. Watch the video from his trip here.
Earlier this year we introduced you to an incredible man from Brazil, Jonas Letieri. Jonas holds one of the most inspirational stories of overcoming obstacles and tragedies that are thrown at you in life and overcoming these obstacles against all odds. This winter, Delphine Macaire and Bertrand Beauchet flew with their paddle boards to the beautiful little island of Siargao located in the Philippines. This little island is beautiful, not only for the lagoon but also for the land with amazing colors, and of course for the people and their smile. Check out the video from their trip here.
An hour south of Anchorage Alaska is a fjord called Turnagain Arm. At this place of exceptional beauty the incoming tide collides with water draining out of the fjord and creates a tidal bore. The video shows three standup paddle-boarders cruising up the fjord.
The Master of the Ocean 2016 was an excellent week long event with incredible conditions allowing for the insanely talented men and women entered in the event to show off their diverse skill sets in the different water sports of surfing, SUP surfing, kite surfing and windsurfing in the beautiful destination of Cabarete, Dominican Republic. We can already tell by watching this short trailer that The Progression Project, a SUP Surfing film by PaddleWoo and Erik Antonson, is going to be a must-see. For this film, PaddleWoo assembled nine of the world's best paddle surfers in the Blue Zone of Costa Rica to document and define the current state of paddle surfing.
The 30th annual Santa Cruz Paddlefest was one for the books. The weather was perfect, waves consistent, and company incredible.
