Attending a standup paddle boarding event is one of the best ways to enjoy the sport. It’s the perfect place to be introduced to the sport as a spectator, it’s a great place to learn and try new products, and it’s also a great way to connect with those who enjoy the sport just as much as you do. May 2023 Paddle Boarding Events
Paddle at the Park
The 11th Annual Paddle at the Park Sponsored by HCA Florida Destin Emergency is moving its location and date! This standup paddle board race will take place in the Gulf of Mexico behind The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island on Saturday, May 6, 2023. It features 1- and 3-mile recreational races, a 6-mile elite race and a kids' fun out-and-back paddle, to be followed by awards. Kayaks and inflatables are welcome too.

OCQ River Paddle Challenge
Paddle the beautiful Occoquan River in this challenge for recreational and competitive paddlers alike! This flatwater course will start and end at the Occoquan Regional Park dock and will pass the waterfront of the historic town of Occoquan, along the shoreline of several wildlife areas, and under multiple bridges. There will be a 5K, 10K, and technical sprint for SUP, a 5K for prone paddlers, a 10K for kayak/surfski, and a 10K for OC-1. Awards will be presented for the top three finishers in each category male and female. Entry fee will include a box lunch from the park's Brickmaker's Cafe.

SUP AC SERIES Season 10 is coming! The event is hosted by The AC Surf & SUP School is the original and the premier surfing organization in Atlantic City and the Greater Atlantic City Area.

The Goat Boater Big Allison 10k
The Big Allison 10K and Ebenezer Cruise 2K Fun Run - Race #2 of 6. (This is a new location & course for 2023!). The 10K Race begins at Ebenezer Park with a Water Start, We will be heading into uncharted territory up a winding cove called Big Allison. She is scenic and beautiful. Yet do not dismiss her mischievousness. The open channel to start and finish can be like a washing machine and wind can be sneaky up the channel. All and all this should be a great 5K grind down to a bouy turn and 5K grind back for a water photo finish line for all to see right next to the pier!

SUP Fest
SUPFEST. Its all about SUP, family, friends, camping, live music, adventure presentations and of course SUP races, games and competitions. Established in 2016 SUPFEST is becoming the must go event for the paddling community. It take place every May in Cumbria, the Lake District. This years event is going to be bigger and better, so bring your paddleboard, bring your friends, meet new friends and relax its SUPFEST.

California River Quest Whiskeytown Challenge
The California River Quest is a marathon/ultramarathon paddling race on the Sacramento River in Northern California. Racers may choose 25, 50, 100 mile, or sprint courses. We welcome all types of paddling craft, including canoes, kayaks, SUPs, OCs, surfskis, and prone paddleboards. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of the River – California’s only statewide river conservation organization that drives protection and restoration of rivers to support sustainable water solutions through advocacy and education.

Madeira Island SUP Challenge
May's stop on the Euro Tour lands at the Madeira Island SUP Challenge! The EuroTour is the biggest stand up paddle tour of its kind. Created in 2015 with the sole aim of unifying events and making them accessible to the athletes with logistics and support. From flat water, to rivers, inner-cities, ocean waves, downwinders, lakes, beaches, islands and seas there's an event for everyone. Backdropped against some of the most iconic scenery in Europe - and beyond.
