Gran Canaria Pro-Am Returns in November

LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, Spain - The APP World Tour will once again crown its World Champions for SUP Surfing and SUP Longboard Surfing for Men, Women and Juniors in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Now coming into its 4th year as the World Championship Tour Final, with a legacy of spectacular conditions and performances each and every year, the Gran Canaria Pro-Am will bring together the World’s Best SUP Surfers for a showdown to remember.

Featuring both regular SUP and longboard SUP formats for both Men and Women, together with Youth Championships to celebrate the future of the sport, the beachfront in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will come to life once again with some of the very best action of the year.

In 2022 we celebrated the long awaited rise to the top for the formidable Frenchman, Benoit Carpentier, who was able to secure his maiden APP World Title. We also witnessed the arrival of an exciting new wave of Japanese talent in the form of Women’s APP World and Junior Champion Kaede Inoue, her brother Taka Inoue and the current U18 Youth Champion Kapono Fukuda.

Meanwhile, the South American presence on Tour has only solidified, with a powerhouse of Brazilian talent in the form of Luis Diniz, Wellington Reis, Leonardo Gimenes and former World Champion Leco Salazar to mention just a few. For the women, there is Lucia Cosoleto from Argentina, Aline Adisaka from Brazil and of course Vania Torres from Peru, together amounting to a powerful contingent from South America.

However, 2019 World Champion Iballa Moreno will be on her home turf and joined by other local standouts from the Canaries, but also from mainland Spain such as Guillermo Robelo and Alazne Alonso. Also to watch out for multi-sport athletes Clement Roseyro from France and Airton Cozzolino from Italy, amongst many others.
