New Paddlesports Tradeshow Announced

MADISON, Wisconsin - With the Outdoor Retailer show announcing new dates for their Summer Show and moving to June instead of August in 2018, the paddlesports industry is in sort of a limbo as the June dates just don’t work for the industry as it’s peak season. With this change, a new paddlesports show is being put together in Madison, Wisconsin, set for mid-September, 2017.

The new show is being organized by Sutton Bacon and Darren Bush who are both outdoor industry veterans. They’re dubbing the show “Paddlesports Retailer” and are holding it at the Allianz Energy Center which is centrally located in the US and is expected to be held at a much lower cost for the retailers and brands.

With the new dates being announced for the Outdoor Retailer show in 2017, 2018 and beyond the initial assumption would be that the paddlesports industry would move to the Surf Expo September show but now with the “Paddlesports Retailer” announcing their show the door is now open for the industry to find a new path, especially with the perk of this new show being expected to be less than half the cost of Outdoor Retailer.

“Paddlesports Retailer” will be a show “for paddlers, by paddlers,” says Sutton Bacon, one of the show’s organizers. The “Paddlesports Retailer” is set for September 12-14, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin.
