SAN DIEGO, California - This week we highlight events as far and wide as Hawaii to the United Kingdom with others sprinkled in on each coast of the U.S. for linear purposes. Follow the events this weekend and trace your own line in the water.

North Shore Paddle Challenge at Turtle Bay Resort

The North Shore Paddle Challenge will be a fitting season closer for the Hawaii and California paddling seasons, taking place from the 14th - 16th October. It will consist of a distance paddle Turtle Bay to Haleiwa, a technical Race in Turtle Bay itself, youth clinics, relays and more.

The dates have been set for the 2nd Annual Golden Isles SUP Classic "Stroke for Stoke"™. Again there will be two race courses, first a challenging but moderate-length (7-mile) competitive course and a recreational (3-mile) race inside the sand bar. This year we are including additional classes including prone paddleboarding, as well as, a youth relay and a dog on board race.

The showcase standup paddleboard competition in the UK, the BSUPA Watergate Bay event features both men and womens open wave, unlimited distance, stock distance and womens distance comps. Also included were an Open Wave Expression and Overall Waterman Awards. With more than 40 competitors in the 2010 event, this event attracts the best of British amateur and sponsored SUP board riders.
Indian Summer Ocean Festival

Carmel Waterman's Club presents the inaugural Indian Summer Ocean Festival. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 PM on the beach for participants and a lunch ticket can be purchased for spectators if done before the day of the event for $8.00 dollars. This event is for multiple types of ocean paddling and swimming. Paddling to include all length of surfboard and long board. A swim combined with a run and ultimately to finish with a paddle is part of the event.

Morgan Becker
After spending the first part of her life in Minnesota, Morgan traded in her snow boots for sandals and moved to sunny California. After graduating with a degree in Communication from The University of Southern California, she eventually made her way down south to San Diego and is taking advantage of the living by the best beaches and burritos California has to offer. If it’s sunny, you can find her at the beach relaxing, or exploring the calm water in the bay via paddleboards and kayaks.
