SAINT LOUIS, Missouri - In 1 week extreme paddler Shane Perrin will start a kickstarter campaign to raise money for a 400+ mile ocean expedition and to promote organ and tissue donation.
Several years ago Shane Perrin required some serious help. ·He suffers from a hereditary disease known as Berger's, which makes it difficult for the kidneys to function properly and can sometimes even result in kidney failure. ·After spending a year on dialysis, Shane's mom came to the rescue when he received one of her kidneys allowing him to regain strength and new life.
Shane has already performed several amazing feats post transpant but the next extreme SUP ultra effort he will make involves paddling From Tampa, FL. to Key Largo in the Florida Everglades challenge where he will have 8 days to cover a 300 mile distance. Once the first task has been completed, he will also attempt to continue paddling all the way to Key West in 10 days to promote organ and tissue donation.
When the kickstarter campaign goes live on January 14th paddlers everywhere will be able to become a backer of this effort and project. As a backer people will receive rewards that are not available to the public like live video and emails from Shane while he is racing, expedition T-shirts, the documentary, race shirts, the paddle used in the expedition, unique items acquired during the race, and more.
