LONDON, United Kingdom - Paddle Logger, a multi-award winning mobile app for paddle sports, has been shortlisted for the Sustainability category at the 2021 Sports Technology Industry Awards.
Paddle Logger's inclusion is thanks to a broad and wide-ranging commitment to sustainability that resulted in the publishing of its first impact report in 2020. Paddle Logger uses its platform to help paddlers become more environmentally responsible, and as a member of 1% for the Planet, the company has also committed a proportion of annual revenue to female-led non-profit eXXpedition to support their work around tackling ocean plastic.
The shortlist was decided by a panel of judges including tech visionaries, sports business leaders, and current and former international athletes including Alistair Brownlee, Darren Gough, and Eoin Morgan. The finalists were chosen based on their innovative efforts that have enabled the sports sector to respond in what has been one of the most challenging years in recent times.
David Walker, Paddle Logger CEO, said: “We are paddlers ourselves and we, alongside our users, want to help protect our ocean playground first and foremost. Hopefully recognition like this nomination will help other brands in their sustainability journey.”
The winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 6th May, and a celebration dinner is planned to take place at The Londoner once COVID-19 restrictions allow.
