SAN DIEGO, California - After a whirlwind of a year in 2020, 2021 has already brought a ton of excitement to the Supconnect team with the addition of Samantha Eastburn to the Supconnect staff. Eastburn is joining the Supconnect team, helping with media production and assisting in content creation.
"I couldn't be more excited for this opportunity. This is going to be an amazing year," said Samantha.
Eastburn is an Arizona native who spent her childhood on the water. From skiing and wakeboarding since she was 5, an instant love for being on the water did not stop growing. After graduating from ASU with bachelors in Tourism Development and Management, Samantha moved to San Diego obtaining a job at a jet ski tour and rental company where she was introduced to Stand Up Paddle Boarding. With her rescue dog Jack, she immediately found a passion for SUP and wanted to share it with others. She created a San Diego local business, SUP Pups, teaching other owners how to paddle board with their dog and have been in business since 2014.
"As we continue to expand the Supconnect editorial team, Sam has already been an amazing addition to our lineup" noted Andre Niemeyer, Supconnect's publisher. "She comes with several years of experience and can intuitively and very quickly assess the quality of boards, levels of technique, and the needs of the standup paddle community."
In 2021 Supconnect has also continued the relationship with Kristin Thomas, host of #SupconnectLive, the online interview series with SUP industry professionals and enthusiasts.
"We couldn't be more proud to have such a remarkable member of the SUP industry, Kristin Thomas, on our team," said Niemeyer. "She has arguably been one of the most respected and influential members of the standup paddle community. Her livestreams with #SupconnectLive have shed incredible insights on the inner workings of brands, product development and the inspirations driving the best of our athletes. We are extremely thrilled to continue to work with Kristin delivering Supconnect live streams into 2021."
About Supconnect
Supconnect has been covering standup paddling since 2007 before the sport was even recognized as an industry. While still called My Local Lineup, SUP quickly started to dominate our coverage in a time when no publication wanted to touch the sport. To remain true to our commitment to standup paddling, we rebranded as "Supconnect" in 2010 and have continued our wholehearted support for SUP since then.
