5. #Bloodmoon !

Many of you know that a major lunar eclipse will take place beginning tomorrow! Some of you will surely be on paddleboards and will be taking incredible pictures of the "blood moon" phenomenon. In celebration of this incredible event, we at Supconnect ask that you share your photos with us and with the rest of the stand up paddle community using the hashtag #BloodMoonSup. Let's all join together in this rare moment and connect paddlers around the world with our amazing paddleboarding images. Remember, use #BloodMoonSup and then also upload your photos in our April Supconnect Photo Contest.
4. Moller Nominated For XXL

SIC Maui paddler, SUP athlete and big wave surfer, Andrea Moller, has picked up a nomination in the 2014 Billabong XXL Awards presented by Pacifico, for the Women's Performance of the Year Award category. Her entry wave was an absolute beast she caught at Jaws Reef on January, 22, 2014. In terms of prestige, these are the Oscar's of Big Wave Surfing, and Andrea finds herself alongside some of the most accomplished, respected and fearless athletes in watersports today. We are extremely proud of her and wish her luck at the awards ceremony on May, 2, at the Grove Theatre in Aanaheim, California.
3. Earth Day With O.M.

April 22 is Earth Day Earth Day - the annual event celebrated worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. And naturally, this event falls right in line with the message and ethos of Ocean Minded, one of the finest brands promoting environmental awareness.

2. Mike T's Top 5 Destinations

Boardworks team manager and athlete, Mike Tavares, lives a pretty charmed life. Between handling athlete affairs, attending events and 'Quality Control' testing new boards, he spends a decent amount of time on the road with Shredder in their camper. During his last visit to San Diego, we managed to corner him for a few minutes to talk about his favorite SUP spots across the US of A.
1. The Carolina Cup Story

The Carolina Cup started in 2011 when six friends came together and decided to start a race that reflected the aquatic diversity of this area and its paddlers. James Bain, John Beausang, Brad Howard, William Pope, Mark Schmidt and myself were all local businessmen, each with a different set of skills and expertise that would be invaluable in organizing this event. This group included industry insiders, local leaders, restaurant owners, logistics/supply experts and financial/marketing professionals.
