5. How To Lift A Stand Up Paddle Board To Avoid Injury

Often times, stand up paddle boards can be big, bulky and weigh a lot which can make the task of lifting the board quite difficult. Because of the weight and size of many of the stand up paddle boards on the market there is a higher chance of injuring or straining your back when attempting to lift the board if not done properly. 4. Cape Cod Bay Challenge Returns for 16th Year to Benefit Christopher’s Haven

The 16th Annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC), the oldest and most recognized standup paddle (SUP) event in the Northeast, returns this year in person and virtually to benefit Christopher’s Haven, a home for kids when cancer hits home. Located near Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Christopher’s Haven consists of nine fully furnished apartments and a community recreation area for families of children being treated for cancer in nearby Boston hospitals. 1. Tomás Lacerda Attempting First SUP Crossing Between Porto Santo and Madeira

The Portuguese professional Stand Up Paddle athlete Tomás Lacerda, who despite his youth, already has 20 national titles and has achieved excellent results in international competitions, will make the crossing between the islands of Porto Santo and Madeira on a SUP board, becoming the first athlete of the sport to accomplish this feat. This will be a highly physically demanding race, with the particularity of the arrival point being in Funchal, and not in Caniçal, totaling an ambitious and surprising 44 nautical miles (81 km).
