LXV Outdoor Brings In KM Hawaii

LXV Outdoor is bringing stand-up paddleboard company KM Hawaii under its outdoor sports umbrella. They will have the rights to all KM Hawaii SUP boards and products while founder and owner Brett Huf continues developing the brand and designing boards.

Meet Jonas Letieri, A SUP Inspiration

You might have been introduced to or heard the story of 30-year-old Jonas Letieri during the 2015 Payette River Games where he stole the show and made headlines as an inspiration to the spectators and fellow competitors of the event when he displayed an incredible performance during competition. Since the PRG’s, Jonas has been keeping busy training and perfecting his paddle technique and he’s so good that unless you knew otherwise, you wouldn’t know he lives and paddles with a disability.

What may separate them are the different types of boards, like paddle surfing, yoga, and fishing. But each and every one of them is made from either carbon fiber, plastic, or are inflatable. Aggressive Shark Encounters With SUPs Being Reported On Maui

When we enter the oceans and waterways we are entering a realm in which we do not control. The creatures that call these bodies of water home are the true masters and we are merely taking a step, or in this case, paddle into their world. It is somewhat unsettling to report that in the waters off Maui, Hawaii there have been multiple incidents lately involving sharks becoming aggressive with paddle boards. Hawaii News Now reports that on Saturday January 23, 2016 a shark had bit a tourist’s paddle board about a half mile off the coast of Maui in Wailea.
