The 7th Annual Chucktown Showdown presented by Charleston County Parks and Rec is moving locations!
The 2015 Chucktown Showdown will be remembered for the “good news” and the “bad news.” The “good news” was that there was a cool northerly breeze blowing through Charleston on a very mild mid-September day. With lower humidity levels and temps in the low 80’s, competitors could go all out without the fear of overheating in the normally sultry low country environment. The “bad news” was that this “breeze” was sustained at 20 with 25 knot gusts, making for quite a challenge on the 9-mile Battery Course (Elite).
Outside Hilton Head announces the return its ‘Fast! Fun! Free! Paddleboard Race Series.’ The races will take place at Shelter Cove Marina on every Thursday in September (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th) at 5:30PM, with registration opening at 4:45PM.
The Salt Games presented by Native Sons is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th and Sunday May 31st, 2015 at the old Pavilion Site on Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Avenue N. Events will run Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Free to attend; some events require a registration fee to compete.
This year's Chucktown Showdown will be held September 11-15 at Brittlebank Park in historic Charleston, South Carolina.
