PLAYA DEL INGLÉS, Canary Islands - Over the weekend in beautiful Spain, it was an epic day of action at the Gran Canaria Pro SUP race. The beach race with the new two heat format was a great success and all the competitors loved it. The waves, along with all the spectators at Playa del Inglés and the beautiful sunny day was the perfect winning combo.
On the women's side, Espe Barreras got an unprecedented 4th straight victory on the 2022 Euro Tour with two Heat wins. The Spanish superstar now has a firm lead on the 2022 Euro Tour and will be hard to catch, with a perfect record.
France's Anáis Guyomarch also shinned during the race, showing that this is her favorite discipline getting silver over Spanish talent Duna Gordillo. On a fight that was decided by just 3 seconds Alba Frey from the Canary Islands got 4th over the experienced Laura Quetglas who came in 5th.

In the morning of the event what was easily the highlight were the Junior races with all the athletes from Second Reef and all over the Canary Islands showing the bright future of the sport in the region. It’s also great to see very young Juniors from all over Europe doing several events on tour, growing every race and also continuing the family vibe that the Euro Tour has always had.
