TABOGA, Panama - In the waters of the Panama Canal the second annual Crossing Panama – Taboga took place, where 338 participants were on the starting line. We had the participation of Stand Up paddlers, Ourtigger paddlers, Kayak Paddlers, Prone Paddlers and Cayuco paddlers. We had paddlers from Panama, Costa Rica and the United States.

It was a sunny day, with great sea conditions and the water temperature around 75 degrees. Paddlers started arriving at 6:00 a.m., where everyone started getting their gear ready for the start. At 7:45 a.m. the start horn went off and it was off to paddling for the next couple of hours. Paddlers were covering distances between 11.5 km and 24 km going from Panama City to the island of Taboga. In the second edition of the Crossing, paddlers had the option to transition to running or have a partner to do a running relay, where they would cover a distance of approximately 6km in the island of Taboga.
