Celebrate 30 Years of Paddling Excellence at Hanohano

SAN DIEGO, California — The Hanohano Outrigger Canoe Club proudly invites paddlers and ocean enthusiasts from around the world to join us in celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Hanohano Ocean Challenge on January 27, 2025. This landmark event, presented by West Coast Paddlesports and ARE Tahiti, promises to deliver the world-class, inclusive race experience that has made it one of North America’s largest and most beloved paddling events.

With roots spanning three decades, the Hanohano Ocean Challenge has become a pinnacle of the paddling community, attracting participants aged 6 to 90 years old and representing all paddling disciplines. Last year, over 800 athletes competed, and we expect an even larger turnout this year.
