Attending a standup paddle boarding event is one of the best ways to enjoy the sport. It’s the perfect place to be introduced to the sport as a spectator, it’s a great place to learn and try new products, and it’s also a great way to connect with those who enjoy the sport just as much as you do. Stand Up Paddle Kayak Marathon
This August in Indonesia is a three-day international Standup Paddle and Kayak Marathon. The event features five different categories: Sup Marathon 10k, Sup Race, K1 Marathon 21K, K2 Marathon 21K and the Traditional Canoe Marathon. Check out the event page for more information and to register.

Stand Up for Littles IOS Invitational
Entering its 7th year, Stand Up for Littles IOS Invitational is waiting for you to make history. Hosted by Seacoast Paddleboard Club, this invitational is a charity paddle for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NH, which is a mentoring program for youth and provides support for parents. The course is 14+ miles round-trip through the Isles of Shoals to Pirate’s Cove Beach in Rye, NH. Register today to make a difference in your life as well as empower children to dream big.

Sea Paddle NYC
Created in 2007, this 25-mile paddle serves as Surfers’ Environmental Alliance’s primary fundraiser to bring awareness and support to SEA’s core values. The event takes place around Manhattan and is one of the premier SUP and prone paddle events in the world. The journey begins under the Brooklyn Bridge to finish at Chelsea Piers Marina. Every year it draws in hundreds of participants and has raised $4 million since 2007. Check out the link below for more information.

Upper Ottawa River Race and Paddle Festival
Designed to celebrate active outdoor lifestyles and the Ottawa River, this three-day festival features stand up paddling, kayak, canoe and outrigger races. The races will be held from Deep River Yacht Club to Riverside Beach Pembroke (44km), Petawawa Point to Riverside Beach Pembroke (13km), and 4km loop races at Riverside Beach Pembroke. After the races there will be various activities such as SUP yoga, kids SUP races, clinics, physiotherapy, great food and lively music. Vancouver SUP Challenge
The Vancouver SUP Challenge is coming so get ready for some fun and an action-filled day of SUP racing. Located on the beaches of Vancouver, British Columbia, there will be a 5km distance race, a 2km course race, sprints and relay. There are categories for men and women, men 50+ and juniors (17 and under). There will also be a BBQ, awards, live music by The Lollygaggers and clinics by 2018 Overall APP World Champion, Lincoln Dews. You won’t want to miss this challenge!

Na Pali Race
Celebrate 10 years of the Na Pali Race by registering today. Paddle 17 miles along the picturesque views of Kauai’s Na Pali Coast. The race begins at Haena Beach Park and finishes at Polihale State Beach Park on the westside. There is also an optional 25 mile long course starting at Anini and meeting up at Haena Beach to continue with the rest of the course. Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival
Head out to Kings Beach in Lake Tahoe for the annual Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival on August 10th-11th. This event is open to everyone, whether you are serious athlete or a non-competitor. To kickstart the day, there will be a two hour guided paddle tour and a four-person team sprint elimination challenge. There will also be daily live music, free demonstrations, raffles and prizes, and a local retail village. Register online now by heading to their website.

Bay Parade
The 6th annual San Francisco Bay Parade is here! SUP, swim, kayak, or boat to bring awareness for a clean and healthy SF Bay. The Golden RIvet Swim is a 6.5 mile long solo swim from the Golden Gate Bridge to McCovey Cove and Kayak and SUP along Pier 40 to Pier 32 to McCovey Cove for a 2-mile long paddle. Paddle 4 the Pool
Grab your kayak, canoe or stand up paddle board and join us on Lake Charlevoix for the 4th annual predicted time contest. This is not your typical race, first begin by estimating your elapsed time for the paddle event, if you finish the closest to your prediction, you will win! There is a 2 mile and a 4 mile course starting and ending at Ferry Beach. This event is open to everyone, so be sure your register today! All proceeds go to supporting Charlevoix Area Community Pool.

Soo Ultimate Paddle Day
Excited to bring you the newest race event in Sault Ste. Marie, the Soo Ultimate Paddle (SUP) Day is an all-day event that celebrates “The Soo” and the St. Mary’s River. There are various racing and non-racing activities. Racing activities include Voyageur Island Biathlon, Portaging Portage Race, Chain of Islands Race and Michigan Canoe Racing Association Races. Non-Racing activities consist of Bird’s Eye Outfitters Guided Island Tours, Lazy River Float, Rotary Island Rendezvous and Canoe Battleship. Enjoy what SUP Day has to offer as St. Mary’s River is an outdoor paddling destination for everyone to enjoy!

32-Mile Lake Ontario Crossing
Aimed towards bringing an open-water endurance race to the Great Lakes, The Lake Ontario Crossing is a 32-mile paddleboard race from Port Dalhousie to Toronto. This race matches the Molokai-to-Oahu crossing in Hawaii and the Catalina Classic in California, bringing an inspiration to Lake Ontario and open-water paddling to the local community and its guests. Paddle at the Porch
The 8th Annual Paddle at the Porch will return in full force on August 17th. Showcasing the emerald green water and white sandy shores of Destin, Florida, it features a 1-mile beginner ride, a 3-mile recreational race, and a 6-mile elite race. On Friday, August 16th there will be a welcome party and on Saturday, August 17th awards will take place right after the races.

SIC Maui Gorge Paddle Challenge
The Gorge Paddle Challenge is a celebratory SUP festival and one of the most dominant downwind events of the race season. The weekend long event offers two full days of exciting competitions, for all ages and race classes, including its now iconic Double Down race (2 back to back downwinders) for the elite paddlers as well as technical and youth races. More than just a race, the two-day festival welcomes athletes, enthusiasts, and families alike to participate in a fun-filled weekend of competition and entertainment.

Great Lakes Surf Festival
Come out to the Great Lakes Surf Festival to celebrate the surf culture and all types of board sports. Joe and Tammy Bidawid created the festival because they wanted to bring people together for all ages and have a safe family atmosphere. The festival is located at Pere Marquette Beach and will have SUP, Kite, Race, Surf, Kayak and Yoga events throughout the day.

Paddle for Access
The second annual Paddle for Access is back! Around Goat Island and Rose Island in Newport, Rhode Island, the 3-mile or 6-mile SUP paddle is hosted by Clean Ocean Access to celebrate efforts in protecting and preserving shoreline access throughout Rhode Island. Each race includes various categories based on board length and gender. Awards will be given after the race as well as a pint glass and a breakfast sandwich!

Hong Kong International SUP Championship
Hong Kong Stand Up Paddle Board Association is committed to the development of SUP and related water sports activities for the people of Hong Kong, that’s why they created the SUP Championships. There are four categories to participate in: 18km Elite Race, 6km Short Course Race, 1.5km Novice SUP Race and 200m Sprint Race. Meeting point is at Kau Sai Chau, Sai Kung. Kalamalka Classic SUP Festival
Get ready to celebrate 10 years of SUP on Kalamalka Lake! The 3-day paddleboard festival runs from August 22-25 with various events, evening socials, and awards. This paddleboard festival will feature a scenic 10-mile Kalamalka Crossing, Wikiholo (short sprint course), Keikiholo (kids race) and the Rail Trail Recreational SUP Challenge. All proceeds will go towards protecting Kalamalka lake.

Hamilton Reservoir Paddle Skedaddle
The Hamilton Reservoir Paddle Skedaddle is part of the New England Canoe and Kayak Racing Association’s Flatwater Point Series. The race is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Hamilton Reservoir Association, which is a 501 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and maintaining the lake. The event will feature three race courses for paddlers to choose from, and will allow paddlers to earn points and prizes at the end of the season.

New York SUP Open
The highly anticipated New York SUP Open returns at the end of August. The long distance race will head around the Statue of Liberty and throughout the city’s remarkable landmarks, with views of the Manhattan skyline. The opening weekend will feature open and youth racing, 6km, 3km and 1km courses, technical racing, a charity downwind run and a SUP longboard exhibition. It will then lead into pro racing of SUP, sprint racing and the long distance race around the Statue of Liberty. For more information and registration details head to the website below.
