Attending a standup paddle boarding event is one of the best ways to enjoy the sport. It’s the perfect place to be introduced to the sport as a spectator, it’s a great place to learn and try new products, and it’s also a great way to connect with those who enjoy the sport just as much as you do. January 2020 Paddle Boarding Events

 

Surf Expo

surf expoSurf Expo is produced in January and September in Orlando, Florida and draws buyers from specialty stores across the U.S., the Caribbean, Central and South America and around the world. The show features more than 2,500 booths of apparel and hardgoods and a full line-up of special events, including fashion shows, annual awards ceremonies, and demos. Average buyer and exhibitor turnout exceeds 28,600 attendees including retailers, exhibitors and media per show. Surf Expo is a TRADE ONLY EVENT and is not open to the public.

Neptunalia Winter Challenge

paddling paradise winter challengeStart off the New Year with the Paddling Paradise Winter Challenge. Formally known as the Neptunalia Challenge, the event has three different course lengths 10 mi, 6 mi and 3 mi. it will be held at Paddling Paradise in Palm Bay, FL. All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate!

GlaGla Race

glagla race1On January 18th, 2020, the 7th edition of the GlaGla Race (understand the Brrrr Brrrr Race in French … as in freezing COLD!) is taking place in Talloires, Lake Annecy – France. For the latest edition, 650 paddlers from all regions of France, Europe and even a few participants from Africa and Australia, took on the GlaGla Race challenge : paddling in the Alps in the middle of winter, on a lake at 6°c ! As the number of participants raise very quickly, we expect at least 800 paddlers in 2020.

interCaribbean Painkiller Cup

painkiller cupThe interCaribbean Painkiller Cup Team race format comprises a 14-mile relay race starting in the shallow water at the top of Trellis Bay and finishing in front of Hendo’s Hideout in White Bay, Jost Van Dyke. The event is open to any team comprising three racers, at least one of which must be female. The course is down through the narrow body of water between Great Caminoe and Beef Island, then through the Guana Island cut and down the North Shore of Tortola. The course is wide open as the paddlers cross from Tortola to Sandy Cay, which may be passed on either side, before running down the South side of Jost Van Dyke and turning in to White Bay.

HanoHano Huki Ocean Challenge

hano hanoThe Hanohano Ocean Challenge has grown to be one of the top rated events on the paddling calendar. Beginner paddlers to the Elite can enjoy a great day on the water and a equally great time catching up with the Ohana on the beach. The Hanohano Huki Ocean Challenge is one of the longest running paddlesport races in California (OC-1, Surfski, Traditional Paddleboard, Standup Paddleboard and Kayak). We’ve always had a great mix of top level professional athletes and beginners from ages 7-80.
