Attending a standup paddle boarding event is one of the best ways to enjoy the sport. It’s the perfect place to be introduced to the sport as a spectator, it’s a great place to learn and try new products, and it’s also a great way to connect with those who enjoy the sport just as much as you do. May 2019 Paddle Boarding Events
Stand Up for the Cure
Join us on May 4th, 2019 at the Newport Dunes Resort in Newport Beach, CA and Standup to make an impact in your community! All proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen Orange County. This festival-style event includes instructor-led demos and clinics, live music, happy hour, and lunch. Paddlers of all levels and all ages are welcome. Participants that are new to paddling can learn alongside other beginners or attend the event as a "dry-foot" participant.

Salt Life Columbus Cup
The Salt Life Columbus Cup will offer $32,000 in cash and prizes and will be sanctioned by the APP World Tour and included in the APP World Qualifying Series promoted by the WPA and the U.S. Cup Series. 2019 will offer many great changes to challenge the Elite-Pro competitors and provide fun racing for the Open & Junior competitors along with the chance to be crowned "Champion Paddler of the Year". This years race will be part of the Columbus RiverFest presented by Salt Life, which brings together the local community to celebrate water activities and safety that include 2 days of food, drink and bands at the event site on May 3 & 4th, 2019. The event will be conducted on the Chattahoochee River (90 miles South of Atlanta, GA) and three blocks from downtown Columbus.

Key West Paddle Classic
Take the challenge on circumnavigating the Island of Key West! Paddle the distance individually in one of our various divisions or team up with your buds for the 3-person Stand-Up Relay Race! Stay for Sunday Funday and take a cruise out to one of our secluded island sand bars to hang out, relax and enjoy a festive cookout! There is a 5-hour time limit to complete the race.

Azur Paddle Days
Now in its 5th year the EuroTour is the biggest stand up paddle tour of its kind. Created in 2015 with the sole aim of unifying events and making them accessible to the athletes with logistics and support. Paddle Imua
Paddle Imua is an exciting annual multiple-discipline paddle race that raises funds to directly support Camp Imua, a week-long recreational camp experience for special needs children ages 6-16 years. Paddle Imua brings the ocean sports community together to celebrate the lives of special needs children by embracing our connection to the ocean.

Lignano SUP Marathon
23 km of Stand Up Paddling circumnavigating Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy)! Start from the beach, through the Lagoon, along the canal to the Tagliamento river then back to the sea, alone or relay race, both for agonists and amateurs. All other human-powered vessels/dinghy employing a paddle/oar, such as MEGA SUP, canoe, kayak, etc. are welcome..

Back of Beyond
The Back of Beyond Paddle Race takes place over two days in the adventure town of Moab, Utah. The first day of racing starts 29 miles from Moab on Highway 128 at historic Dewey Bridge, Back of Beyond SUP Race follows the Colorado River through the spectacular red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah and past some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery – through Moab’s ‘Postcard Alley’ and into Utah’s own ‘back of beyond’. The Second day is a rowdy boarder cross style whitewater race on White’s rapid. Heats of six racers will head down stream around buoys and navigate some big wave class II/III rapids.

Orange Bowl Paddle Championship
The ninth annual Windhaven Insurance Orange Bowl Paddle Championship will take place once again at Miami Marine Stadium Flexpark on May 11, 2019. The event will feature a variety of races throughout the day for paddlers of all levels ranging from novice to expert, both fun and competitive.

Bluegrass River Run
This spring grab a kayak, paddle board, or canoe and join The Explore Kentucky Initiative for the third annual Bluegrass River Run (BRR), one of the largest paddlesports events in Kentucky. We’ll launch from Fort Boonesborough State Park paddling along pool 9 of the Kentucky River, which is located just south of Lexington. The journey immerses you in the incredible beauty of the 60+ ft cliffs of the palisades and the camaraderie of paddling with hundreds of paddlers from across the country. As we approach the finish line at Clay's Ferry, you'll be greeted with music from our headliner, as well as the scrumptious food from Proud Mary BBQ..

London SUP Open
The London SUP Open will bring a mixture of World Championship Tour competition, all access, mass participation and a very complete Urban Beach Lifestyle Festival to the heart of one of the World's most iconic Cities. From the breathtaking race from Tower Bridge to Putney that will take in the most memorable sites in London to a large-scale Festival in Hackney that will feature racing and paddling for all, World Tour Sprint Racing together with demos and clinics in conjunction with the Hackney Festival of Fitness, the London SUP Open will deliver something for everyone.

Treasure Island Pirate Paddle
For the fifth consecutive year this paddle sport event will take place on the beautiful Manasquan River along the shores of Point Pleasant, Brielle, Brick, and Wall Township. This year, we will include divisions for SUP, Prone Paddle, OC-1, OC-2, Surfski, and Kayak. For 2019 the event will feature several races; a 7-Mile Elite WPA & Paddle League sanctioned (points) Distance Race, a 3.5-Mile Sprint Race, a 1.5 Mile Fun Paddle, and a 1/2-Mile Kid's race (conditions permitting). Directly following the last race there will be awards and an after-party (location to be determined). Net proceeds will be donated to benefit The St. Peter School, a local K through 8 school in nearby Point Pleasant Beach as well as other local charities.

Zavidovo SUP Challenge
The Zavidovo SUP Challenge is an annual SUP race in Russia that takes place in May and September. The race takes place with russian Surfing Federation info support. The race is great for paddles of all ages and skill levels and has a long distance, short distance, kids and even a dog race so there's sure to be something that everyone can enjoy.

Almost Heaven Paddle Battle: Summersville Lake
The Almost Heaven Paddle Battle on beautiful Summersville Lake, WV will happen on May 18th, 2019. The start and end of both races is at the Battle Run Campground area, so there will be no need for shuttle! Three race lengths (3, 6, and 12 mile) will provide a race for everyone. The 6 and 12 mile races will take paddlers past the picturesque sandstone of Long Point. This is one of the most visited areas on Summersville Lake. All participants who register and compete will receive lunch during the awards ceremony.

Badfish Paddlefest Surf Comp
Join your SUP paddling peers for an “attainment” up stream and down stream race and river surfing in the Buena Vista River Park. The race will start with an upstream paddling section around buoys and finish with a down river section around buoys to the finish line in South Main. Men’s and women’s qualifying heats and finals all in a one-hour super session. Quick, up-down and dirty SUP fun. Be ready to paddle hard.

Cap de Crus SUP Challenge

SUP & Run 5K
The 5th Annual SUP & RUN 5K event will be held at Nathan Benderson Park to benefit Operation Second Chance (OSC). Athletes participating in the combination SUP & RUN will run the 5K first and then hop on their paddle board for a 5K paddle around Nathan Benderson Park. The SUP & RUN 5K draws top runners and SUP'ers who compete for cash prizes but it's our not-so-serious athletes who have the most prominent place in the event.

Tahoe Cup Paddle Series: Waterman's Memorial Race
Since its inception in 2009, Tahoe Paddle Racing (formerly known as Tahoe Cup) has been a combined effort of soulful paddlers, organizer, volunteers, sponsors, and exhibitors, who continue to enjoy, promote and enhance paddlesport activities and events in the Tahoe Basin. The proceeds from the Tahoe Paddle Racing series benefit the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association and its mission.

California River Quest
The California River Quest is a marathon/ultramarathon paddling race on the Sacramento River in Northern California. Racers may choose 25, 50, 100 mile, or sprint courses. We welcome all types of paddling craft, including canoes, kayaks, SUPs, OCs, surfskis, and prone paddleboards. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of the River – California’s only statewide river conservation organization that drives protection and restoration of rivers to support sustainable water solutions through advocacy and education.

SUP Fest
SUP Fest is all about family, friends, camping and paddle boarding. The event has run for the last 4 years and takes place every May in the English Lake District. The key focus of the event is making SUP accessible to everyone. Meeting new people, making new friends and hopefully making the world a better place.
