CRETE, Greece - After being cancelled last year due to the global pandemic the 4th stop of the 2021 Euro Tour at the Agios Nikolaos on SUP event was a great success with some of the best conditions on record. It was a gorgeous day with perfect weather and water conditions adding to the paddler's excitement for the day. The excellent conditions resulted in some awesome performances and some epic battles.
On the women side Espe Barreras from Spain took her second win for the season and held off numerous attacks by past event winner Amandine Chazot and youngster Anais Guyomarch proving last weekend at the Vendee Gliss event was no fluke and she’s a serious contender at any race. All the way from Russia came Natalia Novitskaia in 4th place and on her third podium this season in 5th was Susanne Lier.

For the men, collecting his second win for the year and showing he’s in it to win it was Bruno Hasulyo that made a break on the first few kilometers and never looked back. Last weekend’s sensation in Ethan Bry showed incredible maturity (he’s just 16) to finish 2nd on his first event outside French waters. A relative newcomer to the scene is Davide Alpino that showed he’s in great form coming in third. Behind him in fourth was the always consistent Boris Jinvresse who had another solid race holding off the ultra consistent Rafael Sirvent in fifth.

Great job to all the athletes and a special thanks goes to Mikhalis and his entire team at Agios On Sup for the great hospitality as usual and being one of the highlights of the tour.
