Last October, Hyatt Regency Maui raised $10,000 for Susan G. Komen Hawaii and is determined to donate even more to the local non-profit this year.
Presented in partnership with The Butterfly Effect and presenting sponsor, Maui Jim, the resort’s second annual Maui Paddle for a Cure will take place starting at Hanakao’o Beach Park (Canoe Beach) on Saturday, October 3 from 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Maui locals and resort guests 18 years and older are invited to an open paddle by stand up paddle board, kayak or canoe, along Canoe Beach, all to benefit this important cause. New this year: Tatiana Howard, founder of The Butterfly Effect, will host an optional warm-up SUP Yoga clinic from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., followed by a beginner SUP clinic that will cover the basics of paddling and will conclude with an optional guided half mile paddle.
To continue the celebration, an exclusive after party and silent auction at Sunset Terrace at the Hyatt Regency Maui will feature food and drink specials, and a performance by Hawaii-based singer and musician, Anuhea. Participation in the paddle event costs $50/person, $180/four-person team, and $240/six-person team, and includes pink rash guard (for first 200 participants), goodie bag of surprises, admission to after party, one food item, one non-alcohol beverage, and the chance to win a door prize. Prices go up after September 25. After-party-only tickets can be purchased for $25/person; admission is limited to 500 attendees and guests 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
