MISSION BEACH, California - A problem beginning in 2013 in the parks and grassy areas of Mission Beach's Bonita Cove Park of razor blades being found scattered throughout the area has once again hit locals with caution.
Beginning in August of 2013, there have been six separate incidents where police have found razor blades in the park's grass. Police believe that these incidents are related. A total of seven razor blades have been found in the grass near a playground off of West Mission Bay Drive in this incident alone. Around 50 razor blades have been found in the area since August of 2013.

With the substantial crowds that are expected to show at this weekend's Hanohano event, it is advised to wear shoes at all times when not in the water and to not be barefoot when walking in the area.
