5. Facing Waves In Tahiti
Heat Score - 70
Last week BIC Sport shared the stand up paddle boarding segment of Facing Waves, a surf series that features Nikki Gregg and Jimmy Blakeney in Tahiti. The episode follows the two of them surfing and cruising around some of the most dramatic and mesmerizing backdrops around the world.
4. Big Whale Encounter
Heat Score - 73
Surfers and paddlers at Freshwater Beach, New South Wales, had a special guest visit their shallow bay last week - a Southern Right Whale. As beautiful and spectacular as these mammals are, not everybody was impressed by the crowd that gathered round to say hi. Getting too close or making the wrong impression on could have been very dangerous for the surfers (who look like ants circling a charred hot dog) and the whale.

3. Tropical Blends - Hawaii
Heat Score - 75
A good old-fashioned destination video always goes down well, especially when it's somewhere beautiful with epic waves and warm water - like Hawaii. This mellow video by the folks at Tropical Blend did the rounds last week and struck a very positive cord with readers. And for good reason - it's the perfect way to start your morning and get frothing, even if it's cold, windy and less than perfect outside.

2. Chuck P. Ski's Jaws
Heat Score - 80
Some of you might remember Ocean minded Ambassador, Chuck Patterson's first Surf/Ski video back in 2011, when he left the surfing world scratching their heads over him taking on Jaws with less-than-conventional equipment. He's back at it again, skiing at Jaws, this time in a white tiger-striped suit and a pair of banana yellow skis - basically a dynamite roller disco getup. Jokes aside, his latest work is pretty amazing - and conditions look a lot more accommodating of his unusual wave riding craft. Hats off to you, Chuck.
1. Shark Bites Swimmer In L.A.
Heat Score - 91
In a most unfortunate set of circumstances, a long-distance swimmer was bitten by a seven foot juvenile Great White at Manhattan Beach yesterday. The unnamed victim is in a stable condition after a 'reactionary' bite to the torso. The shark had been hooked by a fisherman and was struggling to free itself when the group of swimmers moved into its path. It was not an 'attack', but more a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
