Florianópolis, the Magic Island , was the scene of a historic Battle of the Paddle between November 19-23, 2014. SUP athletes from around the world gathered at the beautiful beach of Barra da Lagoa to an immersion event that made everyone breathe the spirit of SUP : the Battle of the Paddle Brazil .
The weather conditions varied between extremes, there were days of heavy seas and strong winds that challenged the talents of competitors, leading them to the limits of their physical strength and technical skill. But on the last day of the event, the South Wind blew determined to open the sky, calm the waters and provide a visual paradise hallucinating - to adjourn the spirit up there and chest full of that peace that only the combination of sun and sea can give us. It was pure magic!
Congratulations to the elite winners Mo Freitas and Candice Appleby and congratulations to all the athletes who competed at the event!
